What is Comparing?
Comparing helps us see which things are more, less, or the same!
We can compare numbers, sizes, amounts, and more. We use special symbols like > (greater than), < (less than), and = (equal to) to show our comparisons.
How to Compare Numbers
1️⃣ Count the objects or look at the numbers
2️⃣ Decide which is more, less, or if they're equal
3️⃣ Choose the right symbol: >, <, or =

Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it real: Compare everyday items like snacks, toys, or steps taken - "Do you have more grapes or crackers?"
- Use hand signs: Teach the > and < symbols by making them with your arms like an alligator's mouth that eats the bigger number!
- Story time comparisons: While reading books, ask questions like "Are there more bears or birds on this page?"
